Wow! I love their facial expressions, but the contrast of light and dark is just breathtaking. It reminds me a bit of Vanitas paintings. Vanitas paintings/drawings are basically still life with items like money, beauty products, mirrors and other items that symbolize vanity and death. In some paintings, there's a pretty girl looking into a mirror and usually there's also an incarnation of death over her shoulder. This tells us that beauty and this life is fleeting. We all die someday. Pretty awesome paintings, but yours just captivates me. I know you probably weren't going for a Vanitas, but it's just what your art calls to mind. It's brilliant, dark, creepy, and beautiful.
