Xelloss Plush by pupukachoo Xelloss Plush by pupukachoo

Occasionally I remember that I like to sew so occasionally I'll actually make something. i've never made a plush before until just like... now? That sounds about right. Pattern by me.

I just watched all of Slayers recently and was on quite a fanart kick... I saw a very cute plush of Xelloss and was inspired to try and make my own as my last hoorah of the summer.

I want to make a Hamel so very, very very badly (and Lute, and Sizer...and Flute...and oh, Orgel would be so cute...)

Maybe I will sometime.

That's so cute! I just started Slayers and I'm only in the very beginning, but I already spoiled myself some.

I would LOVE to see a Hamel plushie, or anyone else from the series for that matter! I was beginning to think I was one of the only fans on DA! Seriously, I would commission it myself if you were open and I had money!

Ahh I never saw this comment! I wonder why it didn't show up in my message center..but yes, Iam TOTALLY a VoH fan lol like... it's my favorite series of all time :D I'm so itching to make some of those chars someday. Maybe someone will commission them for me so i'll have an excuse to pattern out their clothes in order to make my own ho ho ho ho ho!

and thanks! :D I thought about giving him a super cutesy face but I like smirky xelloss best, so he got a smirk for my personal plush lol

Manga or Anime? I enjoyed both, even though anime rarely beats out the original vision.

I'm planning a Sizer cosplay in the future. I really want amazing armor..and possibly a playable I need to work up my skills! Would LOVE a full VoH cosplay group of amazingness!!! A plush set would be just as epic. ;)

aaah sadly manga only, it's really hard to watch the anime... especially after loving the manga so hard and ESPECIALLY after studying film ^^; the anime just makes me angry becasue they blew their budget on terrible cinematography mistakes that could have been avoided and spent better elsewhere... it's also just bad storytelling with super mixed up motivation IMO. I used to defend it a bit more but I watched it again recently and I just found there to be almost nothing redeemable abou it (the art is gorgeous, music is gorgeous, and they had a few nuggets of good ideas, but overall..... sigh. I wantthat series to be properly made so bad) lol

ahhh i've made sizer's armor and scythe before :D I'd love o make a full set of plushes, especially a cute little Lute for myself.

I saw the series before I read the manga and let me tell you, I felt like I was whip-lashed! I had liked the anime a lot and then I couldn't even wrap my head around how completely different the two were! But I did enjoy both of them. :P

I did watch it looooong ago, so I don't know how I'd feel about watching it again to see how it's stood the test of time.

Quite a few old school series are getting reboots, maybe they'll eventually revisit VoH? Would be nice; fans have been wanting a true to manga series for a while.

You should just make them then! I'd love to see your Sizer armor/scythe!! I'm not super enthusiastic about crafting her armor, but I really really loved her character. It will eventually be done!!

Ahahaha! Oh my goodness that is the best slayers plush I have EVER SEEN. His little face is the best thing on the entire internet, it really just made my day. You are awesome. I wish I could make one for myself, but I can't sew for peanuts.

Oh my god. This is amazing. Not just because it's Xelloss. Did you figure out your own pattern for this?
pupukachoo Featured By Owner Dec 25, 2010  Professional Filmographer
Yeah the pattern is my own :) I didn't like too many of the super simple plush patterns so I decided to make one that would work well as an articulated armature doll
cesca-specs Featured By Owner Dec 25, 2010  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Whooo... Yeah, it's definitely way better than the standard plushy. SKILLS.

This is AWESOME! I sew a bit myself, mostly just ren faire related clothes though. Maybe I'll have to try a plush something-or-other after I'm done with the current batch.

Wonderful! I love his expression -- it's like he's just about to wave that finger and exclaim "Sore wa himitsu desu!" :)

No way, is this your first plush? It looks so professional! o_o The clothes and the brooch look so well-made, that if they were life-sized, they would be well above the level of cosplay, even. And the face!.. Never before I saw a plush with a face sculpted like this - an sculpted into Xelloss' trademark grin, no less.
jolinek Featured By Owner Sep 16, 2010
that's probably the best plush I've ever seen... awesome work. the expression is the best!

Oh, WOW.
Is there anything you can't do? <3

I'm waiting for him to open one eye, wave his finger at me and go.."Sore wa himitsu desu!"

I've made a couple of plushies, but they both came out...well....obviously not done by a Plushie pro.
Though I like how this pattern looks - although I'm crossing my fingers in hope that you post up the pattern or a tutorial, I'm not going to hound you like a crazy person to do so.

Did you do it by hand or with a machine?
